I am looking a a used 2001 B2410 hst with Land pride 60" rear finish mower and auger with 9" and 12" blades. the machine has 384 hours and by the looks of the shovel some of them were hard, the owner is aking 14k and i am going to offer 13k. I also looked at the new b7610 wich runs for 13,300 new. I know the b7610 is slightly inferior to the b2410. any suggestions? if i go with the new one i could always by a cheap lawntractor at home depot and i really dont need the augers.

I would buy new for three reasons.

You have control of the maintenance and how the machine is treated.

You will have the warranty to fall back on if you have any problems, which could get pretty expensive.

With the financing options Kubota has on their new equipment, you could take advantage of the 0% deal.

The 7610 is an economy version of the 2410, but unless position control on the 3pt is important to you, most of the other features are probably not "gotta-have" features. ....

Follow those instincts! If something inside says it was used too hard, go with that.

Besides, those prices are too close together. The warranty on the older machine has run out and for a couple grand more you get a new machine with a fresh warranty.

A new mid mount mower will cost about the same as a decent riding mower from the big box store. ....

Go for the new machine. That way you know how it was treated. Those first 50 hours are very critical and if someone abused a machine during that time, it could have a significant impact down the road. I would go with a MMM or rear finish mower for the 7610. If you buy a nice machine like that you want to spend time mowing on it. The seats on these machines are more comfortable than on cheap riders plus the cut is awesome. ....
